A bank job in public sector is always desirable. Thousands of professionals who are already working, opt for the IBPS PO and clerk exams every year. While the preparation strategy for both IBPS PO and clerk would be same for both working and non-working professionals, the working lot needs to be more rigid in managing their time for exam preparation. Here are few tips for working professionals to manage time better, prepare well and crack the upcoming IBPS clerk 2017 exam.
These tips are brought to you by Oliveboard, an online platform to prepare for bank and government job exams.
1. Define your daily study hours
Identify at least 2-3 hours every day and dedicate these hours completely for exam preparation. Suppose, you spend 9 hours at office, 2 hours in travelling, 8 hours in sleeping and 2 hours in other work. You will be left with 3 hours every day for study. For weekends, plan 7-8 hours as you get lesser time to concentrate during weekdays.
2. Prepare a schedule
Dedicate each day for at least two sections (English, Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness). During weekends, invest more time on the sections that you are weak or are less confident. Attempt as mock tests and sectional tests you can during weekends. Prepare a study schedule and stick to it.
3. Collect your study materials
As you are already working, online study materials for IBPS exams would work better. You can refer these anytime anywhere. Make notes of grammar rules, math formulas and keep referring to them. Download GK or News apps on phone to get regular notifications around general awareness.
4. Practice Mock Tests
Make sure that you attempt 3-4 full length mock tests every weekend. You can also attempt sectional tests for the sections you are weak at. Oliveboard’s mock testshelp you do a performance analysis after every mock test that help you prepare better.
5. Take leave before the exam
Before the exam, take a few days leave from office so that you can revise all the topics well. Also, do not over stress yourself or compromise on sleep before the exam.
Stay healthy and focus and you will do good. All the best for the upcoming IBPS 2017 exams.
