Solution(Q.1-4): If we start from backwards, when everybody ate three cookies, we get the following table, with the help of which rest of the questions can be solved easily.
Nisha | Nitu | Soha | Sonali | |
First | 32 | - | - | - |
Second | 24 | 24 | - | - |
Third | 12 | 12 | 12 | - |
Fourth | 3 | 3 | 3 | 3 |
Fifth | 71 | 39 | 15 | 3 |
5. Solution: Cost price of V = `50
Transportation cost = `30
Total cost price = 50 + 30 = `80
Profit = 4%
Selling price = 80 × 104
100 = `83.2
6. Solution: Selling price of X = (Cost price + Cost on transportation + Profit) = 250 + 20 + 5 = `275
Cost price of W = Selling price + Loss = 100 + 10 = `110
Reqd % = 275*100/110% = 250% of the cost price of W.
7. Solution: Loss on Y = Cost price of Y – Selling price of Y= 400*100/96-40 = Rs. 16.66
Loss on W = `Rs. 10
Required ratio = 16.66 : 10 = 833 : 500
8. Solution: Selling price of Z = Cost price of Z + Cost on transportation + Profit = 400 + 40 + 440*6/100 =`466.4
Selling price of X = `275
Difference = 466.4 – 275 = `191.4
9. Solution: Selling price of V = (Cost price + Cost of Transportation) × 95/100 = (50 + 30) × 95/100 = `Rs. 76
So, Selling price of Z = `466.4
So, Required % = 466.4 – 76/466.4*100% = 83.7% less than selling price of Z.
